Dr. Christopher s Herbal Eyebright Extract, also known as Eyebright, is a special formulation designed to treat and prevent eye diseases of different etiologies and to improve visual acuity. The extract has been also found to soothe inflamed mucous membranes and is effective against cough and upper respiratory infections.

Eyebright (lat. Euphrasia Officinalis) is one of the oldest medicinal herbs used in folk medicine of different countries. Many people call it the "eye grass" or "bright eyes."

Eyebright as a medicinal plant was first mentioned in 1305 and it was so famous and believed to be so effective that it was glorified in poems. In Tibetan medicine, eyebright has long been considered a good remedy against conjunctivitis. In Iceland, the eyebright juice has been used as an analgesic for various eye diseases.

Eyebright represents a rich complex of active substances, including glycosides, flavonoids, anthocyanins, coumarins, vitamin C, carotene, bitterness, saponins, essential and fatty oils, trace elements: copper, manganese, zinc, boron, silver, magnesium, molybdenum, iron, chrome, and nickel, which at biochemical level affect the cause of inflammatory and degenerative changes in retina and vitreous.

The biological effect of Dr. Christopher s Herbal Eyebright Extract includes anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and astringent (especially with regard to mucosal eyelids and conjunctiva) properties, which reduce intraocular pressure and help to improve the function of vision.

The extract has been widely used in ophthalmology for burning eyes and tears, to improve visual acuity, prevent eye diseases of various etiologies, and degenerative and dystrophic processes in the eye. The formula may help to reduce pain and inflammation in eye injuries and damaged cornea.

As a dietary supplement take 10-15 drops 3 times a day or as directed by your health care professional.

As an eyewash Externally (Eye Application). Shake Well. Place 3-5 drops of the herbal eyewash extract into each of the two CLEAN & STERILE eyecups, one for each eye (left and right). Then pour some boiling distilled water in each eyecup almost filling it to the rim of the eyecup glass. Then let the two full eyecup glasses cool normally to room temperature.

(DO NOT USE UNTIL THE EYECUPS & EYEWASH SOLUTION HAVE RETURNED BACK TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. DO NOT USE IF EITHER EYE CUP GLASS CRACKED DURING THIS PROCESS).

With contacts removed and once the eyecup and eyewash solution have cooled, tip head forward, put the eyecup with solution up to the eye and press it gently against the face with the eyecup surrounding the eye. Then tilt the head backwards, blinking the eye as though swimming under water. Blink a few times. There will be a burning sensation (during and slightly after this process), which will turn the eye red when using the eyewash, THIS IS NORMAL! (the burning sensation will go away) Repeat the same process with the other eye, using the clean solution (do not use the same eyecup for the other eye). The best time to do this procedure is before retiring for bed.

Store in a cool dry place.

Temporary burning is normal.

Vitamin Grocer makes every effort to ship orders as quickly as possible. Orders are typically dispatched from the Vitamin Grocer warehouse within one to two business days.

After an order is placed, customers will receive two confirmation emails from Vitamin Grocer. The first email is the order confirmation email. The order confirmation email will be sent immediately after the order is placed and serves as the customer's order receipt. It includes the order number, billing address, shipping address, shipping method, payment method, items ordered and order total. Please review the shipping address to ensure it is correct. If it is incorrect, contact us immediately and we will attempt to correct the shipment before it dispatches. The second email is the shipping confirmation email. This email is sent to the customer on the day that the order is dispatched from the Vitamin Grocer warehouse. It includes the order shipping method, tracking number and a hyperlink to the shipping carrier's website where the order's status can be tracked.

In rare circumstances, there may be a delay in the dispatch of a customer order due to unforeseen circumstances. If a shipping confirmation email has not been received within two business days of placing the order, the customer may contact Vitamin Grocer for an update on the status of the order.

In order to ensure that you receive the confirmation emails, please configure your email account to allow receipt of emails from customerservice@vitamingrocer.com.

On rare occasions, certain purchased item(s) may become unavailable due to supply chain disruptions or unexpected surges in product demand. In such cases, Vitamin Grocer will notify the customer as soon as possible and provide a full refund.

In the event that the unavailable item is part of a larger order that includes other items which are in stock and ready to ship, Vitamin Grocer will ship the remainder of the order and provide the customer with a full refund for the missing item(s) and the appropriate portion of any shipping charges.

Vitamin Grocer orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placing the order for a full refund. To cancel an order, customers should send an email to customerservice@vitamingrocer.com stating their intention to cancel the order. The 24 hour time limit begins at the moment a customer clicks the "Place Order" button on the VitaminGrocer.com checkout page. Only orders cancelled within this time period will be issued a full refund under this policy. All other requests will be treated as returns and subject to the Vitamin Grocer Refund and Return Policy.

As stated in the shipping rate tables above, most orders shipped to shipping destinations in the lower 48 states are delivered within 3-7 business days. If delivery takes longer than this estimate time frames, the customer may contact Vitamin Grocer and a customer service representative will assist in tracking the status of the order.

In order to receive assistance with an order not received, customers contact Vitamin Grocer customer service no later than 30 days after the shipment of the order. Beyond 30 days from the date of dispatch, orders are considered final and no refunds will be issued for orders not received.

Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate shipping address information and ensuring that packages can be safely delivered to the address provided. If delivery is unsuccessful, either because an incorrect address was provided or because delivery of the packages was refused or unclaimed, it is incumbent upon the customer to contact Vitamin Grocer customer service for assistance. Upon receipt of the returned order, Vitamin Grocer will provide a full refund to the customer less any shipping charges incurred by Vitamin Grocer. Vitamin Grocer will not resend an order to an address where one delivery attempt has already failed unless the customer is able to provide a verified correction to the original address.
